Hand
Reflexology is perhaps not so well known as Foot Reflexology,
yet it is equally effective in relieving stress and tension,
balancing the body and improving nerve and blood supply.
There
are reflexes on the hand which relate to all organs, glands and
parts of the body. By stimulating these reflexes using
special thumb and finger techniques, a Reflexologist can bring
about positive health benefits to the client.
Not
all Reflexologists are trained in Hand Reflexology, however the
International Institute of Reflexology believes that Hand
Reflexology is a vital skill for a professional, and all of our
Reflexologists are trained in the subject.
Hand
Reflexology can be carried out virtually anywhere - on a bus, a
plane and even in the street in the event of an emergency! It
is excellent as a First Aid tool. I can also show you how
to do hand reflexology on yourself in between treatments.
In
the USA, Hand Reflexology is offered as a therapy on its own,
whereas in the UK, we tend to use Hand Reflexology as an
addition to a Foot Reflexology treatment, or when the feet
cannot be worked upon for a particular reason.
The
hands are not as sensitive as the feet and the reflexes are much
deeper, however a Hand Reflexology treatment is just as
effective.

This
is the Hand Chart that IIR-Qualified Practitioners use for
pinpointing the reflexes on your hands.
