Reiki,
pronounced 'Ray-Key', is a Japanese word meaning universal
life energy. The power of Reiki lies in its
simplicity. Reiki energy flows through the hands to
wherever it is needed in the body - like a plant taking up
water. Both the practitioner and receiver of Reiki are
revitalised after treatment.
The treatment is carried out with either the patient sitting up or lying down with the shoes removed, but otherwise fully clothed. I will place my hands lightly upon your body letting them rest for a few minutes in different positions. The treatment lasts approximately 1 hour. During a treatment people often talk of feeling sensations of melting warmth coming from the practitioner's hands, giving a strong sense of comfort, some people even sleep. Pain may be relieved, leaving a deep and lasting sense of relaxation and peace.
